MULTIPLY AND REPLENISH, RULE AND SUBDUE!
By Pastor Henry
As we run the race that God has set before us, we are on an exciting, life-fulfilling assignment that is destined for success.
When God gave the first couple, Adam and Eve an assignment, He never took it back. This assignment has fallen upon us and is now ours to carry out. What is the assignment? God said, “Be fruitful.” This is also our theme for the year – fruitfulness. As we look at the womb of the remaining half of the year, and as we run the race God has set out for us, our focus must be on being fruitful – because God has called us to be fruitful.
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. (Gen. 1:26)Then God blessed them, and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it …” (Gen 1:28)

So God created man in His own image. In the image of God, He created both male and female. Then God blessed them and gave them their assignment - Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth. Subdue it. The good news is, we can be fruitful. We can take dominion and subdue. We can be successful and prosper in our hopes and purposes because we are made in God’s image. He created you and me so that we can be like Him on this earth.
What is it like to be like God? What characterizes Him? God is both creator and possessor. He is Elohim, the Creator from whom everything comes. He is also Adonai, the Possessor of all that He has created. God creates and He created you to be fruitful and creative, to multiply in the way He does. God also owns and possesses everything and He has made us to rule and reign, take dominion, subdue and overcome opposition.
He said, “Be fruitful.” That means to let quality come forth from your life. He also told us to multiply. He said to multiply, to let it be quantitative as well. Not only did He say to multiply, He said to replenish, “to fill the earth”. Replenish means to restore things that are lost, vanished or destroyed. He gives you the power to replenish them. So the Lord is saying, that which you have lost, that which has gone or was broken, consumed or finished, He says, “I give you the power to replenish it.” He gives you more than enough because only when you have more than enough, you can give more than enough. He is a more-than-enough God! Hallelujah!
So as we look at the womb of the next 6 months, as we embark on the second half of the year, we want to speak with boldness. We want to speak with confidence because we have been blessed by God, the Father and Creator, by Jesus Christ, the Possessor and by the Holy Spirit. By the encouragement and the ministry of God’s holy angels around us, we know we are not alone. We have a company of witnesses that will strengthen us and enable us to accomplish our dreams and hopes. Knowing we have an enemy, knowing there is resistance, knowing there is opposition, yet by His blessing we can subdue and take dominion.
Now this word “subdue” is an aggressive word. It is a violent word. It is a military terminology. In other words, God is saying there will be opposition. You must subdue it. You must take dominion. Bring it to subjection. So there is a violent act of prayer, there is a violent act of acting, of doing something so that quality and productivity can come forth from all that you do. So that it begins to multiply and replenish every area that needs to be filled and until it impacts other lives. In everything we do, there’s got be a sense of unselfishness. There’s got to be a purpose of being a blessing to others.
God has blessed us to be a blessing. He said, “Have dominion over all the earth.” God wants you to be fruitful on a bigger scale. Embrace not only your family and those close to you. God wants you to lengthen your arms and embrace all that he embraces. He says not only should you multiply and replenish but to embrace the whole world. He says everyone. And the more we bless others, the more He will bless us.
This is our assignment and if you will believe it, it will come to pass.
