Acts of Grace 25
YOUR GIVING, HIS GLORY!
By Pastor Henry
Our ability to give of our finances towards the building of God’s kingdom is a blessing from God. When God gives His church a VISION, He will also give the PROVISION to fulfil the vision.
The children of Israel were slaves in Egypt but yet God prospered them. When God delivered them from the bondage of slavery, they took all the gold and silver out of Egypt and that nation has not recovered since. Why? Because God had a plan – a plan to build His people and further His kingdom. So if God prospers you, you can be sure that there is a purpose for it.
When God gives us a vision to move up and expand His kingdom, He will also give us the provision to make the vision a reality. When God commanded Moses to build His sanctuary, He provided everything that Moses needed. He provided the personnel, the skills and the finances.
Then Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work. And they received from Moses all the offerings which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of making the sanctuary. So they continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning. (Exodus 39:2-3)
|
So we see here that the people of God began to work, using their skills and talents to build God’s sanctuary. Not only that – they began to bring their gold and silver and everything that God has prospered them with for the building of His sanctuary. In fact, they brought so much of offering every day until Moses had to tell them to stop bringing anymore! Imagine, having to restrain people from giving!
Then all the craftsmen who were doing the work of the sanctuary came, each from the work he is doing, and they spoke to Moses, saying, “The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the Lord commanded us to do.” (Exodus 36:4-5)
|
So Moses gave a commandment and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.” And the people were restrained from bringing, for the material they had was sufficient for all the work to be done – indeed too much. (Exodus 36:6-7)

If you will just obey His word, God will put His spirit and His wisdom upon you to do the work that He has called you to and He will also provide the finances to carry it out. And God will prosper what you are doing, like how He prospered Jacob. God said, “Jacob, because you have made this vow and commitment to me, from now on all your goats will give birth to twins, and all your cows will give birth to twins and none of them will be aborted or die and they will all be strong. No weak children, your womb, I will bless. Barrenness will go.”
If every believer will begin to give what God expects of you, there would be ample resources to feed and minister to the lost, orphans, widows, needy, naked, outcasts and destitute. As the Scripture says, “Bring all the tithes and offerings into the storehouse, that they may be food in the house” (Mal 3:10). If we would follow this, then we need not put up this programme and that programme to convince people to give and support the work of God.
According to all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. Then Moses looked over all the work, and indeed they had done it; as the Lord had commanded, just so they had done it. And Moses blessed them. (Exodus 39:42-43)
|
You see, God blesses obedience and so I challenge you, as you make a commitment to God, be what you are called to be, a faithful man or woman. Wherever God has planted you, He will prosper you and I am believing for God to give you a double portion.
Beloved, God wants your heart! He is not after your money, all the gold in this world belongs to Him, He is after your heart. To those that have a wise heart, God gave more wisdom. To those that were willing to work, He gave more talents. And so they delighted in what God called them to do and Moses blessed them.
