2010 Through the Prophetic Eye: TEN COMMANDMENTS - Part 1
By Pastor Henry

Lawlessness and fallen people movements will continue to challenge the complete laws of God as embodied in the Ten Commandments

2010 is the year of completeness - God wants to complete things in your life. This completeness can only take place when we yield and cooperate with him. Only when we submit to God will there be a completion, otherwise it will not take place. So, I believe this year, there will be many, many things God will complete in your life. There will be a sense of fulfillment, a sense of achievement and a sense of having arrived, if you are flowing in the will of God. There will be a completeness of order, with nothing lacking pertaining to the perfecting work of God in your life.

Completion - that is what the 10 represents. So, in the bible we see many, many tens where God reveals his completeness but lawless man will continue to challenge the laws of God. The scriptures say that one of the signs of the last days is, lawlessness will increase and the lawless one will be revealed, the anti-Christ. So, lawlessness will continue to challenge law and order. The Ten Commandments contains all that is necessary and no more than necessary - it is complete. But fallen people movements and government will continue to challenge these complete laws of God. In doing so, they will only expose their own shame, corruption and decay. By challenging the laws of God, they will only undo themselves with their ungodly, man-centred laws and this is what we are seeing all around us.

Let me take you into the Ten Commandments that God gave to man. If you study history, you will see that before Moses, there were there no such laws like the Ten Commandments. Moses was the first to bring into the world these laws that elevated human beings to a higher level of likeness akin to the mind of God. Before Moses it was whoever was stronger, the brute mentality, like the barbarians that ruled. The one with the rod or the stake will rule and impose their will upon the weaker masses like they did in Egypt. If you were strong, you ruled over everyone, you were the law unto yourself. Then God came to invade the human realm through the life of Moses and brought in the Ten Commandments. We call it the Ten Commandments but God calls it the ten characteristics of how God deals with man - the ten pillars. We call them commandments because if we follow them, we benefit, if we violate them, we violate ourselves.

The Ten Commandments which has become the crux of the major laws in many western nations has caused these nations to be elevated to a high dimension in science and social advancement because they honoured God. But the Ten Commandments not only honours God but honours self and our neighbours as ourselves. The Ten Commandments not only speak about a relationship with a loving creator God but even more about a relationship between me and my neighbours. A law that says all are equal, a law that says all of us are on a level field, there is no preference or favourites in the kingdom of God.

1:And God spake all these words, saying,
2: I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3: Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6: And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
(Exodus 20:1-6)

God introduced these guidelines as a protective shield to protect the unseen enemies that man has. Exodus 20:1 And God spake, God is one that speaks. God is the one that brings us out of the land of slavery. God is the one that brings us out of all bondage. God is the deliverer, not man. God is the saviour, not man. God is the healer and provider, not man.

There are all kinds of ‘gods’ in this world where they have to feed those hungry gods. There are more hungry gods than hungry people. A god that needs to be fed is not a god. A god that needs to be clothed is not a god. A god that needs to be carried around by human beings is lower than human beings. How can it be a god when it is dependent on our charity? Because in my thinking, God feeds hungry people, people don’t feed hungry gods. If I am the feeder, then I am the god.

Our God is so big, he is so great … listen, don’t be afraid that you will embarrass Jesus Christ – he is beyond embarrassment. Don’t be afraid you will belittle the God of the bible because he is too big to be belittled. He is too great; so, don’t stand to defend the church, the church is the rock of ages, she does not need defence. Amen! That’s the God I’m speaking about, he does not need my protection - he protects me. I don’t defend him - he defends me. We need to change our thinking. He brings us out of Egypt. He brings us out of bondage. He is the God that we speak about.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Why? Because there are no other gods! God says you will not engrave something with your hand, you will not take a stone or a wood and make something with your fingers and bow down before it and worship it like the pagans do. In the Bible, when Moses asked God for his name, God said, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.” (Ex. 3:14).

Why do you need a name? You only need a name when there is more than one! God says, I am nameless because I am only ONE. I AM sent you, there is none besides me. You will not make any image of me because you cannot imprison me or confine me to an image. I cannot be confined or limited. I am bigger than your imagination. I am bigger than your hands. I am Spirit and I fill all things. Hallelujah!
