Acts of Grace 20
MOTHERS, THE WOMB OF THE NATIONS - Part 2
By Ps. Henry
Some promises we will possess, others our children and grand children
will possess but God’s word will always come to pass! |
Way back in time, God gave Abraham an insight into the world that we know today. He told Abraham, “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless Sarah and she will be a mother of nations.”
Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.” (Gen. 17:15-16) |
Right here is Christianity - almost 2 billion people, the highest number on planet earth, claim to be Christians. There are 1.3 billion people who claim to be Muslims and there are about 15 to 20 million Jews, all of whom claim Abraham as their father.
If you step into the world of Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and all the others who believe in Brahma, you will realize that Brahma is actually Abraham! In the Hindu trinity, the main God is Brahma and Brahma always stands with two wives, one on the right and one on the left. On his right is Saraswati, which the Chinese pray to under a different name, Saraswati is Sarah and the woman on the other side is Hagar. So the Hindus and the Buddhists pray to Saraswati who is Sarah, and Brahma who is Abraham.
Now millenniums later, we can see that what God promised to a childless couple in that age has come to pass. There is no name more revered on earth than the name of Abraham – every one claims to be a descendent of Abraham. Is Abraham a father of nations? Is Sarah a mother of nations? Truly, God’s word had come to pass! But Abraham did not live to see it. Sarah did not see it in her lifetime. Their son, Isaac did not see it. And neither did Jacob. But what they prayed for did happen, what God promised through the prophetic word did come to pass.
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. (Heb. 11:8-12) |
Faith means ‘beyond sense’, it is ‘non-sense’. When Abraham was called to go out into a place which he would receive as an inheritance, he obeyed. He went, not knowing where he was going. Just imagine, Abraham having a farewell party and people asking him where he was going and his answer was, “I don’t know.” He did not know where he was going, but yet he went forth. That is faith. We are called to do things that our human minds cannot understand. By faith Abraham sojourned, he journeyed to the land of promise. The country was supposed to be his, yet it was very strange to him, and he dwelt in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs of the same promise.
By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. (Heb. 11:12) |
Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed. By faith, suddenly the walls of the stomach began to come alive, the juices began to secrete and the muscles, tissues and ligaments became alive again because she received the word. Strength came where there was no strength, life came where there was no life - she delivered a child when she was passed age because she judged him who promised as faithful. Likewise, you too, will see your prayers answered. They will come to pass!
Here was Abraham, Isaac and Jacob years later, still all dwelling in the same tent, father, son, and grandson. The promise given took a long time to be fulfilled. In the life of Abraham, only a part of it was fulfilled. For Abraham, the other part was fulfilled in Isaac’s life. Even then was it all fulfilled? No. Another part was fulfilled in Jacob’s life. Then, Joseph came later and all the others had to come to truly fulfil the promise. The point is, God said to Abraham, “I will bless you and I will bless your seed and your children and your children’s children for a thousand generations.” Can you believe that?
Beloved, carry on believing, don’t give up! God has come and he will bless you. He has promised and you will possess it, but you just wait. I’m talking about possessing this nation. I’m talking about taking this nation for Jesus. I’m talking about taking the surrounding nations for Jesus. So many things are happening around the world and people are coming to the Lord by the thousands in places where it is difficult. God said, “I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” When Jesus comes, we will be ready. We are not a defeated church. We are a victorious church. The church of Jesus Christ is a glorious, triumphant, overcoming church. We are on the side of the winner. Embrace the nation, pray for the nation. It includes your family. It includes your children. God doesn’t just want to give you one blessing, he said many, many blessings, ask big things from God, pray for big things from God.
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. (Heb. 11:13)
|
They did not receive many things but they saw it coming and they embraced it. They saw the invisible. They believed the impossible. They hoped for the hopeless. They believed the unbelievable and as the result, their children were able to possess. Some things we will possess, other things our children will possess but God’s word will come to pass. I challenge you today, dear mothers, believe for the salvation of your loved ones, don’t give up because his word says they shall receive. He knows how to get them, you don’t give up praying. Activate your old prayers. Bring back unfulfilled prophecies that you have received from his word - God will bring them to pass!
Lord, I speak to the womb of thy people and I say, come forth men and women of prayer, come forth sons of Abraham, daughters of Sarah. O Lord, bless your people, grant them the favour to hear the way Abraham heard and obey the way Abraham obeyed to inherit all your favour and blessing. We call forth fathers of nations. We call forth mothers of nations. May their wombs bring forth multitudes in Jesus’ name. Amen. |
