Acts of Grace 1
POWER TO EMPOWER COMPLETELY
By Pastor Henry
As we begin a new year, it is very important that we know and understand what God has in his heart for us in 2010. What does the 10th year of the millennium have in store for the world community, the Church and us, as individuals?
“… how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” (Acts 10:28)
|
The scripture says that Jesus, the carpenter from Nazareth, “went about doing good.” He was anointed by God and God gave him the power to go about doing good. God empowered him so that he could empower others. He empowers you and I, for he says, ‘In the same way the Father has sent me, I am sending you. The same authority and power the Father has given me, I now give to you. So, let the world see your good works and glorify the Father in heaven.’
We have been involved for so many years now in community works because I read in the scripture we are called the agape community. We ought to go out to those who do not know the Lord, those that live in darkness and do good works so that they will glorify the Father in heaven. And today, many others are doing the same and I’m so glad. This is being prophetic in action. This is being apostolic because we are setting stages, making pathways for others, seeing things that have not been seen by others before. That’s why the eye of the eagle is so important. A lot has been said about the marvel of the eagle’s sight but another marvel of the eagle is its hearing ability. The eagle is the only bird that can hear the wind, and flow with the wind. The wind here depicts the spirit of God. So God anoints us. He has empowered us so that we can see what he wants us to see and hear what he wants us to hear - so that we have the power to empower others.
I want to bring into a nutshell what I believe the Lord will do globally this year and also to highlight what we need to do in order to flow with the spirit of God globally.
2010. The number 10 speaks of completeness. Completeness of order, implying nothing wanting or lacking. When man partners with the complete God, God completes him into perfection. It’s completing cycles. God completes cycles. It can be good. It can be evil. For those that are good and who continue to seek and serve the Lord, the Lord will bless them, empower them and they will go to higher heights of holiness and godliness. To those that are wicked, it is as the book of Revelation says, ‘Let the righteous be righteous and let the wicked be wicked, for the Lord will soon come to give to both of them according to their deeds.’ So this year, we will see a lot of good, and we will also see a lot of bad being magnified into completion globally.
Lawlessness will challenge law and order to a very great extent. Globally, there is going to be a great attack against the Ten Commandments. This will not only come from non-Christian nations but from so-called Christian nations as well, such as America and Europe. But those who live out the Ten Commandments will be greatly blessed and will receive divine favour. Fallen people movement and governments will challenge the Ten Commandments’ complete laws, they will make laws that will expose their own shame and moral decay and thus undo themselves. There is a suggestion for the Ten Commandments to be replaced with some other opinions where God is not the centre but rather, man.
This year, there will be a lot of emphasis on relationship with God as well as with people because in the Ten Commandments, four of it speaks about the vertical relationship with God and six concerns the horizontal relationship with people. God puts more emphasis on how we live and how we relate to people - in serving them, loving them and caring for them. He is more concerned about how we live the Christian life rather than our talents and abilities. This is the weapon of holiness that the enemy fears and so there would be a great emphasis and desire among the people of God for true holiness.
Another target for warfare will be The Lord’s Prayer, which is complete in 10 proclamations or 10 clauses. Recognizing the completeness of this prayer will result in a greater emphasis of it in the church. The church will begin to reap the benefits of praying in such a fashion. Now, may I encourage you to read the prayers in the Bible and to pray those prayers. We must learn to receive the very words God put into our mouths so that we can send them back to him and complete a cycle - then a miracle begins.
The Lord’s Prayer begins with ‘Our Father Who Art in Heaven’, that’s the first clause; it speaks about God’s sovereignty. The second, ‘Hallowed be Thy Name’, introduces us to God’s name, Jehovah’s name. Third, ‘Thy Kingdom Come’, it’s a realization there is a kingdom of God. ‘Thy Will Be Done on Earth’, it’s the first mention of the earth in prayer. Then ‘Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread’, speaks about the grace that supply all our needs. Then, ‘Forgive Us Our Sins as We Forgive Others’, deals with the sinful nature of man. Then it says, ‘Lead Us Not Into Temptation’, this is an appeal for spiritual guidance. It also says, ‘Deliver Us From the Evil One’, this speaks of the final deliverance that will come. ‘Thy Kingdom, Power and Glory’, affirms that all glory and power belongs to the Lord God alone. ‘Forever and Ever and Ever’, speaks about complete cycles, events repeating themselves again and again and again.
This prayer which I just broke down to the ten clauses or ten declarations is a complete prayer, embracing all that God demands and all that man needs. It’s completeness. That’s why I encourage you to sing the Lord’s Prayer - memorize it, dream about it and sing about it. When you go to sleep, let it be in your spirit, so that you can wake up in the morning with it because through it, you find the completeness of the total revelation of the Father heart of God - and your total needs will be met.
