Grace Assembly : Acts of Grace

The time has come for change. The time has come for us to move up and enter into a new era of fruitfulness. For this, God has prepared for us, His Church, a strategic building that will become our new operations centre. Located in Taman Mayang, Petaling Jaya, our new premises will be bigger and better in ways that will enable us to carry out God’s mandate to make disciples, serve the community and equip God’s people for works of ministry - with greater power and fruitfulness.

Alpha Omega International is the name of our new building. Named after our Lord Jesus Christ, Alpha Omega International is not just a building - it is a Christ-centred worship centre and equipping station. Besides housing Grace Assembly PJ, Grace Home Schooling and Alpha Omega International College, this new equipping station strategically supports and facilitates our multi-dimensional ministries and areas of involvement in Education, Sports Ministry, Community Services and more. It is also my heart’s desire that our new home will also be a ‘refuge’ and a ‘hospital’ whose doors never close, but stay open 24/7 to receive the lost, wounded and rejected.

Moving up to larger and better premises requires us to also move up to greater faith, courage, commitment and sacrifice. It costs 40 million ringgit to take possession of this new building. In the midst of a global economic downturn, this amount may seem like an impossible feat, but remember, Isaac sowed in a time of famine – and he reaped a hundredfold. “Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him.” (Gen 26:12)

Beloved, God knows that many of His children are uncertain about their financial security and are concerned about their day to day needs. Like Moses, you may be plagued with doubts about your ability and self-worth. You may be thinking, “How can I
contribute towards the building fund in these times? How can my contribution make a difference?”

Just like Moses before the mighty pharaoh, we face the might of an economic crisis. But God said to Moses, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff”, he replied. The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.” (Ex. 4:2-3). Yes, what have you got in your hand? It does not matter how small or how insignificant it is – throw it on the ground, because God can use it, if you are willing to lose it!

Beloved, nothing is too small or too big for God. Take for example the poor widow, she gave two very small copper coins but Jesus said she “put in more than all the others.” (Luke 21: 3) Why? Because she gave all that she had. God may not be asking you to give all that you have, but He is asking every one of us to get involved in contributing to the work of His kingdom to our full potential, with a free and generous spirit, in worship of God. It is not so much about giving towards the building fund - it is about building His kingdom.

Alpha Omega International is the dawn of a new beginning for us all. A worship centre and an equipping station to carry out God’s mandate to love the Lord and our neighbour, to feed, clothe and shelter the needy and take the gospel to all the world.

Let us move up with one heart and mind as together, we enter into a new era of fruitfulness!
